I want to knit doilies - preferrably intricate, and the ones I'm tending towards are in German (and by Herbert Niebling). I don't know German - I know Italian and English with a side of French and Spanish. As my mom says, I love the crazy :)
For those of you on Ravelry, this is what I'm looking at right now (mom, I'll show you when you visit next weekend):
Niebling patterns:
Nadelblatt
Mallins 44
Frosted Ferns
Lyra
Hannelore
Schleuderblatt
Gloxiniaeflora
Handarbeitschnitt 44 (not in Ravelry - link to purchase)
Others:
Egeblad
Coronet Design
Azalea Design
Most of the Niebling patterns would need to be sourced - any recommendations?
EDIT: I credit Julie over at Samurai Knitter for introducing me to Niebling designs.

I made 5 penguins for the man for Christmas - somehow he was surprised even though I knit them in in the living room while he played games.

Bunny the Penguin (originally a bunny pattern - Blob the Bunny) - pattern by Emily Stoneking
All modifications explained on Ravelry
Penguin (Ravelry link) - pattern by Jean Greenhowe - this is my favorite of the 5 penguins so here's 2 pictures
